*************Breaking News alert! 4/13- I am stranded in South Carolina*************
2nd Period:
I miss you all dearly! I am stuck in the fatal humidity of the south, so please do the following in my absence: Crack open a window and that old laptop cart and continue working on your memo. I will give you an extra day since I want to make sure that I go over my proofreading lesson with you, and I know all of you are waiting for that with bated breath! Be sure that your memo is complete and all of the members of the group need to read and reread your final project in reference to the rubric. I will be here on Tuesday making sure that your memos are free from dropped quotes, grammatical errors and historical inaccuracies! Remember, you are PARAPHRASING your evidence and footnoting the source (unless your current leader is actually quoting a juicy primary source, e.g. "Che Guevara once said...). Be thorough. Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose.
4th Period: Hi y'all! I hope you enjoyed your break. I also hope you were able to sit and ponder our wonderful field trip to the Brooklyn Museum. For today, I want you to take time to finish your graphic organizer for the 4 hypotheses for the origins of racism. I can tell from class that you probably needed a day to catch up on this since we usually dive into discussing these ideas. I do not have a soft copy of Michelle Alexander's reading on Bacon's Rebellion (Hypothesis 4) so hopefully you all still have the one I gave you, otherwise you can share.
The teacher covering will collect your graphic organizer for an easy Plan grade, this will also help jumpstart discussions on Tuesday. See you soon!
